Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has announced that the government will not fund travel expenses for Executive Council members of the Ghana Football Association ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Adams clarified that state support will be limited to key officials directly involved in team administration. He explained that while essential personnel will be catered for, Executive Council members will not receive government-funded travel.

According to the minister, GFA President Kurt Okraku, General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, and members of the Management Committee will have their expenses covered.

The decision comes as Ghana intensify preparations for the global tournament, where the Black Stars have been drawn in a challenging group alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.

Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.

As part of preparations, coach Carlos Queiroz will lead the team in friendly matches against Mexico and Wales in the coming weeks.
