Ghana defender Kofi Agbesimah has joined Al-Etisalat SC from FC Samartex on a free transfer, bringing the 29-year-old centre-back to his new club on 12 August 2026.
Agbesimah leaves FC Samartex after two years with the Ghana Premier League side, having moved there from Hearts of Oak in July 2024. His switch to Al-Etisalat marks the next stage of a senior career that has been spent largely in Ghanaian football.
The defender began his career with Bectero FC before joining Bechem United in January 2018. He spent more than five years with Bechem United, then moved to Hearts of Oak in August 2023.
Agbesimah has made 212 appearances in the Premier League during his career, scoring seven goals and providing one assist. His record includes 18,681 minutes on the pitch, underlining his extensive experience in Ghanas top flight.
Standing 1.81m tall, Agbesimahs established position is centre-back. He was valued at 100,000 before completing the move, while his highest recorded market value was 125,000.
His departure ends his spell with Samartex, where he had been part of a club competing in Ghanas Premier League. The move also sees him leave the country for the first time in the career path recorded, with Al-Etisalat becoming his first club outside Ghana.
Agbesimah joins after a sequence of domestic transfers that began with his move from Bectero FC to Bechem United, followed by spells at Hearts of Oak and FC Samartex. Each of his most recent moves has involved a Ghanaian club, making the switch to Al-Etisalat a significant change in his club career.
The transfer gives Al-Etisalat an experienced central defender with a substantial record of Premier League football behind him. Agbesimahs arrival was completed as a free transfer on 12 August 2026.
