Former Chairman of the Western Regional Football Association, Kojo Yankah, will declare his intention to run for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidency on June 6, according to Onua Sports.

The experienced football administrator feels he is ready to lead Ghana football, and he will officially declare to contest this year’s election which is expected to be held in October.

Having previously served as a member of the Black Stars management committee, Yankah held various roles within the GFA during the presidency of Kwesi Nyantakyi. His vast experience in football administration makes him a prominent figure in the sport.

Yankah, known for his outspoken nature, successfully served as the chairman of the Western Region Football Association for eight years following the tenure of the late Lee Yankey. Additionally, he held a position as an Executive Committee member of the GFA.

With his imminent announcement, Yankah will become the second candidate to emerge in the race for the GFA presidency, challenging the incumbent Kurt Okraku, who is seeking re-election.
