The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have extended operating hours for Kumasi’s Prempeh I International Airport and the Tamale International Airport, effective 1 June 2025.

The adjustment is intended to enhance travel convenience and improve accessibility for passengers using the two regional airports.

Under the new schedule, Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi will remain open until 11:00 p.m., extending its previous closing time of 8:00 p.m. Similarly, the Tamale International Airport will now operate until 10:00 p.m., instead of its earlier 6:00 p.m. closure.

In a joint statement, the GCAA and GACL noted that a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued to alert all airlines of the updated hours.

Domestic carriers have also been encouraged to revise their timetables and increase flight frequencies to and from the two airports.

Travellers are advised to take note of the changes and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
