FC AshantiGold 04 have added extra entertainment to their much-anticipated coronation clash against King Faisal FC this weekend with a special curtain raiser involving Kumawood stars and former AshantiGold players.
Ahead of the main match-day 30 encounter at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 17, supporters will be treated to an exciting exhibition game between Kumawood Stars and AshantiGold old players as part of the club’s promotion celebrations.
Popular Ghanaian actors Kwadwo Nkansah, Akwasi Boadi and veteran actor Dada Santo are all featured on the official promotional flyer, confirming their participation in the event.
Their presence is expected to further boost excitement in Obuasi as fans prepare for a memorable day of football and entertainment.
The coronation game is expected to serve as a celebration of AshantiGold 04’s successful campaign after sealing promotion to the Ghana Premier League. Club officials and supporters are hoping to create a festive atmosphere with thousands expected to fill the stadium in the club’s famous yellow and black colours.
Activities for the day will begin early with the special ‘Welcoming Float’ organized in partnership with the Obuasi Keep Fit Club. The float will start from Wangala Mosque at 6:30 AM and is expected to bring together supporters, residents and football lovers across the mining town.
Kickoff for the main game between AshantiGold 04 and King Faisal is scheduled for 15:00 GMT (3:00 PM)
