Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, who was the Press Secretary to former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor from 2001 to 2006, has released a press statement about how he received the news of the passing of the former First Lady, Mrs Theresa Aba Kufuor.
He stated on Monday, October 2 that he received the news with immense sadness.
The formal Press Secretary mentioned that Auntie Theresa, as they affectionately called her, was a mother to him and all.
“She was always ready with kind words of wise counsel and she opened her heart and home to all,” he stated.
Mr. Agyei Agyepong also stated that the former First Lady took him as a son and on countless occasions he enjoyed Mrs. Theresa’s culinary skills.
He also mentioned that he will forever remember the joyous expression on Mrs. Theresa’s face on that memorable night at Tokyo during TICAD3 and it will forever remain with him.
The professional engineer again stated that Auntie Theresa will be sorely missed by his wife and his children and she is gone with her gentle grace and kindness.
Mr Agyei Agyepong prayed that the deceased former First Lady’s soul rests in peace and also sent his condolences to his former boss, John Agyekum Kufuor, and his family.
