Black Starlets head coach Laryea Kingston has resigned from his position as head coach of the U-17 male national team after a shocking defeat at the hands of Burkina Faso at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

The former Black Stars player disclosed the news to the press during a post-match press conference, outlining that his decision to resign was already scheduled before the WAFU B Championship began in Accra. Stating how disappointed he is to step down this way.

According to Laryea, his time with the national team will always be with him, as coaching this young team was a push in his coaching career. He also added that he will always give his all for the national team whenever they call on his service.

Laryea Kingston’s time as the U-17 coach was a huge learning curve for both himself and the team, as he implemented numerous incredible philosophies that saw the team play some attractive football, catching the attention of football lovers and fans in Ghana.

Laryea Kingston’s indelible one-touch football was industrious in his team’s performance, as they scored 54 goals in 18 games.
