Family, friends, colleagues, clients, and members of Ghana’s fashion industry will gather on Friday, July 10, to bid a final farewell to renowned fashion designer Halimatu Sadia Sanusi.

The popular designer passed away on June 14 at the age of 33, leaving behind a legacy defined by creativity, elegance, and excellence in fashion.

According to details shared on her official business page, the final funeral rites will begin with a lying-in-state at the ICGC Christ Temple East, where loved ones will have the opportunity to pay their last respects.

This will be followed by a memorial and burial service celebrating her life and remarkable contributions to Ghana’s fashion industry. A private interment and subsequent family funeral rites will take place afterward.

A thanksgiving service has also been scheduled for Sunday, July 12, at the same venue. Mourners attending both services are expected to observe a black dress code.

Ahead of the final funeral rites, family, friends, colleagues, clients, and admirers gathered on June 24 for an all-white one-week remembrance vigil at the Underbridge Annex. The emotional gathering featured tributes, prayers, and songs celebrating the life and impact of the late designer.

Widely admired for her luxury couture, bridal collections, and bespoke kente wear, Sadia Sanusi built a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and timeless designs. Her work earned her a loyal clientele and established her as one of Ghana’s respected names in the fashion industry.

Tomorrow’s funeral is expected to draw members of the fashion fraternity and the general public as they gather to celebrate her life and honour her enduring legacy.
