The Chief of Sehwi Boinzan and Kontihene of the Sehwi Wiawso Traditional Area, Nana Ofori Ahenkan II, has called for peaceful elections in 2024 during the Elluo Festival celebration at Sehwi Boinzan.

Under the theme “Creating A Peaceful Atmosphere For 2024 Election Before, During, And After; The Role of Traditional Leaders,” Nana Ofori Ahenkan II emphasized the role of traditional authorities in ensuring national peace and unity.

In an interview with the media, the chief encouraged political leaders, party supporters, and the general public to prioritize national stability over partisan interests. He urged Ghanaians to embrace tolerance and mutual respect, especially during the election period.

Nana Ofori Ahenkan II also highlighted the need for collaboration between traditional leaders, the government, and security agencies to safeguard peaceful conduct during the elections. He called on all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue and conflict resolution mechanisms.

The Elluo Festival, known for its cultural significance, brought together dignitaries, local leaders, and the community to celebrate unity and reflect on the role of tradition in fostering peace. Nana Ofori Ahenkan II’s message resonated with the festival’s spirit, underscoring the importance of maintaining a harmonious atmosphere throughout the electoral process.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, graced the occasion and delivered a speech on behalf of former president John Dramani Mahama guest speaker.

He urged the good people of Ghana to maintain the peaceful and successful elections that the country has had for years. She also emphasized that every Ghanaian must contribute to ensure a tranquil atmosphere before, during, and after the upcoming elections.
