Popular Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, better known as Lil Win, has announced his intention to contest for the Afigya Kwabere South parliamentary seat in the Ashanti Region.

The actor made the announcement in an interview on Accra-based Okay FM, saying that he had been urged to do so by traditional leaders, influential figures, and constituents who believe in his leadership potential.

Lil Win said that he had initially not been interested in a political career, but that he had been persuaded by the groundswell of support he had received.

“I wasn’t interested in the bid from the beginning, but now, I believe I have to respond to the call of my people,” he said.

Lil Win pointed to his work in the community, including the establishment of his school, Great Minds, as evidence of his commitment to serving others.

He said that he was confident that he could use his experience in the entertainment industry to bring positive change to the district. “I believe I have the skills and experience necessary to be an effective leader,” he said.
