Popular Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, better known as Lil Win, has announced that he charges GHC 200 per month for boarding fees at his Great Minds International School in Kumasi.

This is a fraction of the cost of boarding at other schools in the city, and Lil Win says he made the decision to help reduce the burden of high education costs on parents.

Lil Win said that he was aware of the financial challenges that many families face when it comes to providing quality education for their children. He said that he wanted to make his school accessible to all students, regardless of their financial background.

“Fees are so high in various schools and yet, they are not providing any quality education to reflect the huge monies they are taking,” Lil Win said. “Some of these institutions are just taking advantage just because the school is situated in Kumasi.

There are those who attend school in Kumasi yet they have nothing to show for while others attend school in a remote village yet have come far in life.”

Lil Win said that his school, Great Minds, is not in competition with any other school. He said that he is focused on providing quality education at an affordable price.

“My school, Great Minds is not in competition with any school so we are managing the school within our means,” Lil Win said. “As you can see, the school is progressing with the second batch of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) students graduating last Friday.”

Lil Win said that the only challenge that his school faces at the moment is a lack of buses. He said that he is working to address this issue so that students can easily get to and from school.

Lil Win’s decision to charge low boarding fees is a welcome move for parents who are struggling to afford education for their children.
