John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised concerns about the credibility of the Akufo-Addo administration in light of the controversial “Agyapadie” document.
Speaking at the Bawku Naba’s palace, Mahama argued that its implementation reflects the current government’s actions regardless of the document’s authenticity.
The “Agyapadie” document alleges that President Akufo-Addo and his associates have orchestrated a plan to appropriate state assets for personal gain.
This document has fueled significant debate and controversy, particularly between supporters of the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
President Akufo-Addo dismissed the document as a fabrication intended to damage his reputation, claiming that his political opponents were behind its dissemination.
Mahama challenged the President’s denial, asserting that the current administration has enacted the purported actions described in the document.
He questioned how a document, if indeed fabricated, could so accurately reflect the government’s actions.
“Recently, there was an issue with a document called ‘Agyapadie.’
They claimed it was fabricated. But even if it is manufactured, the implementation is not fabricated because everything outlined in that document has been carried out,” Mahama stated.
“If someone fabricated that document and it matches what the President and his associates are doing, then that person is an extraordinary writer because the document’s contents are being implemented.”
Mahama further accused the Akufo-Addo administration of engaging in state capture and purchasing government properties and lands.
He suggested that the current economic mismanagement has deterred investors from entering Ghana, exacerbating the country’s financial difficulties.
