A 45-year-old man has been arrested by police in the Central Region for unaliving a 50-year-old woman for refusing to do maame ne paapa with him.

The incident occurred at the Gomoa Dominase Onion Market in the Gomoa East District.

According to preliminary information, the deceased, identified as Habiba, was on her way to purchase fresh cow milk from a nearby ranch when the suspect allegedly approached her and demanded intimacy.

Sources indicate that after Habiba declined his request, the suspect attacked and strangled her to death.

Residents in the area later discovered the woman unresponsive and alerted authorities. Police officers subsequently arrested the suspect, who is currently in custody, assisting with investigations.

The tragic incident has left traders and residents in the Gomoa Dominase community in shock, with many expressing outrage over the circumstances surrounding Habiba’s death.

Police say investigations are ongoing, and the suspect is expected to be arraigned before the court in the coming days.

Authorities have urged members of the public to remain calm as the case is being thoroughly investigated.
