Marathon singer Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum was among those who visited the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace during the inaugural Awukudae celebration of the year on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
This visit served as an expression of gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Otumfuo during Asantewaa’s second attempt to set a Guinness World Record, which took place at the Baba Yara Stadium in December.
During the visit, the Asantehene praised the singer for her courage and resolve, highlighting her exceptional efforts to elevate Ghana’s presence on the international music scene.
Kwame Adinkra, Kofi Owusu Aduonum, Gladys Owiredu, Isaac Amponsah, and Asare Daniel joined Asantewaa at the Manhyia Palace.
Her second attempt to achieve a Guinness World Record took place from December 21 to 26 at the Baba Yara Stadium’s Heroes’ Park annex, located in the heart of the Ashanti Region.
The event attracted both local and international attention as Asantewaa tested the limits of endurance through her musical performance.
