The live-in assistant of late “Friends” actor Matthew Perry has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison over his role in the drug supply that led to the star’s death.
Kenneth Iwamasa, 60, was handed the sentence on Wednesday by Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett in a federal court in Los Angeles. He was also ordered to serve two years of probation and pay a $10,000 fine.
The court heard that Iwamasa played a central role in Perry’s ketamine use in the days leading up to his death on October 28, 2023, with the judge describing his actions as “reckless,” while noting there was no clear evidence of malicious intent.

Iwamasa, who was the last person to see Perry alive, admitted to conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death and later became a key witness in the wider investigation, which has now concluded with multiple convictions linked to the case.
