Black Satellites head coach Maxwell Konadu has urged his players to respond strongly after Ghana’s 4-2 defeat to defending champions Nigeria in their opening Group B match of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship in Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire.Ghana endured a difficult start against the Flying Eagles, conceding four goals despite producing encouraging spells in attack. The Black Satellites twice reduced the deficit but were unable to complete a comeback as Nigeria claimed all three points.Speaking after the match, Konadu admitted his side made costly errors but insisted the team must quickly move on and focus on the remaining fixtures.”Thank you very much. It was quite a difficult game. We gave away some cheap goals that I think would have been avoided. Having said that, we can’t take anything away from them. We have accepted that, and it will be time right now for us to bounce back and try to win the games that are ahead of us.”The defeat leaves Ghana with work to do in Group B, with two matches still to play.
