Ghana winger Michael Ephson has joined Modern Sport from Heart of Lions, completing a move to the Egyptian club on 15 August 2026.
The 22-year-old right winger arrives after one season with Heart of Lions, having previously played for FC Samartex. Ephson joined Heart of Lions on 24 August 2025 before switching clubs again a year later.
Ephson has recorded 68 appearances and 13 goals in league football, while also scoring once in two CAF Champions League appearances. His league record includes 4,056 minutes on the pitch, with a goal every 312 minutes.
The Ghanaians move gives Modern Sport another attacking option on the right side. Ephsons primary position is right wing, and his senior career to date has included domestic league football in Ghana as well as continental competition.
His most productive spell in the available record came during his time in the Premier League, where he established a regular presence and contributed 13 goals across 68 appearances. He also featured in the CAF Champions League, scoring in his two outings in the competition.
Ephson had been valued at 75,000 before the transfer. No fee has been announced for his move to Modern Sport.
The players career has so far taken him from FC Samartex to Heart of Lions and now to Modern Sport. His arrival in Egypt represents his next club change after a single season with Heart of Lions.
