MOBA Golf Club has launched the Sesquicentennial Trophy to mark the 150th anniversary celebrations of Mfantsipim School, with proceeds from the tournament set to support a major fundraising campaign for the institution.
The invitational tournament will be held on October 30 at the Achimota Golf Club, bringing together Mfantsipim Old Boys, corporate leaders and golf enthusiasts to celebrate the school’s legacy of leadership and academic excellence.
Organized by the leadership of MOBA Golf Club, the event forms part of activities commemorating the school’s 150th anniversary.
Beyond the competition, organizers say the tournament will serve as a networking platform while raising funds towards a $2 million endowment aimed at improving Mfantsipim’s infrastructure and supporting talent development initiatives.
Speaking ahead of the event, the club’s leadership said the tournament reflects the alumni’s commitment to giving back to their alma mater.
“This tournament is not just about golf—it is about giving back to an institution that has shaped generations of leaders,” the organizers said.
The event is expected to become one of the highlights of Mfantsipim School’s sesquicentennial celebrations while strengthening alumni support for the institution’s future development.
