Moises Caicedo has completed his move to Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion after a series of negotiations between the two clubs in the last few months.
The player was unveiled on Monday afternoon after successful medicals earlier in the day.
The 21-year-old joins as potentially the most expensive Premier League signing with a fee of £100+15m.
Caicedo has signed an eight-year contract with the Blues with an option to extend for one more year
“I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me,” Caicedo stated.
“I just knew I wanted to sign for this club, Chelsea”.
“It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait.”
Following the announcement, Chelsea faced competition from Liverpool for the much sought-after midfielder before the weekend.
While Chelsea prepared to submit a package of £100m for the Ecuadorian, Liverpool presented a higher bid of £111m which was accepted by Brighton and Hove Albion. However, Caicedo declined to join the Reds leaving Chelsea as the only suitors.

The Blues later followed with an improved bid and have finally gotten the highly-rated player who is expected to improve Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
Coincidentally, Chelsea hosted Liverpool in their opening Premier League match on Sunday in an exciting 1-1 draw.
