Murder case of Immigration Officer Stephen Amoah transferred to High Court

The case involving the death of 38year old Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah has been moved from the Kwabenya Circuit Court to the High Court.

This was revealed during proceedings on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Amoah went missing on July 3 after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate.

His partially burnt body was found five days later at Abuom Junction, near Kwabenya.

A key suspect, Bright Aweh believed to be the last person in contact with Amoah has been arrested.

Speaking to Ghana Weekend  in an interview on Wednesday July 23, Stephen Amoah’s nephew, Osei Mensah Lucky-Dan, said the case is no longer being treated as kidnapping, hence the transfer to the High Court.

The family is awaiting further updates on the trial from the Police Criminal Investigations Department.
