Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has candidly shared details about the initial opposition her family expressed towards her marriage to politician Ned Nwoko.
During a live social media session, the actress addressed rumours suggesting she had been coerced into marrying a significantly older partner.
Regina Daniels revealed that her family, including her mother, initially disapproved of her relationship with Ned Nwoko.
Despite this, she remained steadfast in her decision, highlighting her agency in the matter. She shared a humorous anecdote about a planned visit with her then-boyfriend, which unexpectedly led to her meeting Amugi.
“I was so angry with my mum for insisting on a family outing. But when we got there, I met this cute man,” she explained. “The moral of the story is, don’t let a boyfriend hinder you from finding your husband.”
Regina Daniels further emphasized that she had multiple romantic relationships at the time but ultimately chose Ned Nwoko as her life partner. She clarified that her family’s opposition, rather than forcing her hand, actually strengthened her resolve.
“When people assume I had no choice or was pressured by my mum, they’re completely wrong. My entire family was against it. But I knew what I wanted,” she affirmed.
The celebrated Nollywood actress hinted at plans to share more details about her relationship with Amugi and her family’s initial objections in the future.
