The Member of Parliament for Nabdam in the Upper East Region, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, at the weekend held a colourful thanksgiving rally for his constituents’ resident in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, in appreciation of their support in the 2024 elections.

The event, which took place at Magazine in the Kumasi Metropolis, attracted a large crowd, including executives of the Kumasi branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Nabdam Constituency Chairman, Mr. Tetteh Zure, some constituency executives, and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nabdam, Mr. Francis Tobig.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nawaane expressed deep gratitude to the Nabdam indigenes living in Kumasi who mobilized themselves, travelled home, and voted massively for him and President John Dramani Mahama.

“I am extremely proud of you. Despite living far from home, you showed commitment and love for Nabdam and the NDC by making sacrifices to ensure our victory,” he said. “Your support was not in vain, and I do not take it for granted.”

Dr. Nawaane noted that the victory was a collective one and assured his constituents that he would work tirelessly to ensure that Nabdam benefits from development under the new government.

“I want to assure you that Nabdam will have its fair share of the national cake. I will work closely with the President and all stakeholders to bring development in the areas of education, health, roads and job creation,” he promised.

The Vice Chairman of the Kumasi Constituents, Mr. Samuel Dombire, commended the MP for recognizing the contribution of party supporters outside the constituency. He urged constituents to remain united and continue supporting the MP and the NDC government.

DCE Francis Tobig also encouraged the Nabdam community in Kumasi to remain engaged in constituency affairs, noting that their voices and ideas would be crucial in driving development back home.

There were musical performances from artistes, merry making and renewed pledges of support for Dr. Nawaane and the NDC.
