Nana Ama Mcbrown Exposed For Lying About Her Age

Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has been accused of lying about her age. A video circulating on social media shows critics questioning the date she provided as her birthdate, August 15, 1977.

According to them, a check of the calendar reveals that this date fell on a Monday, whereas Nana Ama McBrown has always claimed she was born on a Saturday.

In a typical Akan family, children are traditionally named based on the day of their birth. The Akan people use the Kwa language group’s system of timekeeping, which follows a six-day week (‘nnanson’), with the seventh day included.

In Ashanti culture, for example, males and females born on Sunday are named Kwasi or Kwesi and Akosua, respectively (meaning ‘associated with the universe’). Monday-born children are called Kwadwo or Kojo, and Adjoa or Adwoa (meaning ‘associated with peace’). Saturday-born individuals are named Kwame or Ama (meaning ‘associated with God’).

Given this naming convention, if Nana Ama McBrown were indeed born on a Monday, her name should have been Nana Adwoa McBrown, not Nana Ama, which indicates she was born on a Saturday.

These speculations, however, are merely the assumptions of random social media users who believe the actress and TV show host may have lied about her age.
