Nations FC have expressed their disappointment following the club’s relegation from the Ghana Premier League at the end of the 2025/26 season.

The Abrankese-based side confirmed their relegation in an emotional statement posted on the club’s social media pages shortly after the dramatic final round of league matches on Sunday.

The Sky Blues defeated Karela United FC 1-0 in Tamale and looked set for survival, but results elsewhere eventually condemned them to the drop.

Swedru All Blacks FC pulled off a stunning 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko in Kumasi to secure safety, while Young Apostles FC also survived after beating FC Samartex 2-0 in Wenchi.

The results meant the Sky Blues finished 16th on the league table with 44 points and joined Hohoe United and Eleven Wonders FC in relegation.

“Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, we regret to confirm our relegation to Division One,” the club stated.

“This is a very painful moment for everyone connected to the club, and we sincerely apologise to our fans, sponsors, partners and supporters for falling short this season.”

The club also accepted responsibility for the disappointing outcome despite the efforts made throughout the campaign.

“We take full responsibility for this outcome. Despite the effort and commitment shown, it was not enough to keep our place in the league,” the statement added.

Nations FC, however, remain hopeful of making a strong return to the topflight in the near future.

“But this is not the end of our story. We will regroup, fight and work tirelessly to bring Nations FC back to where it belongs,” the club concluded.

Nations FC will now play in the Access Bank Division One League last season
