A 34-year-old real estate developer, Mr Emmanuel Appoh Mensah, is with an unflinching resolve, giving Gomoa East Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Desmond De-Graft Paitoo and five other aspirants a good run for their money in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries.

The young man threw his hat into the ring as one of the MP’s contenders with the singular vision to help expedite development in the constituency.

Given the significant role of literacy and health play in the development of every nation, the charismatic politician is promising active development in education, healthcare and youth empowerment to improve the livelihood of his constituents.

Mr Mensah has garnered massive followership and is enjoying a lot of support since he declared his intention for the race.

Consequently, many people have tipped him to beat the incumbent MP in the contest.

In an interview with Peacefmonline, he intimated that there were clamours from some quarters for the incumbent MP to go unopposed.

Consequently, he said there was pressure mounting on him from some constituency executives and delegates to withdraw from the contest even though he had been cleared by the Vetting Committee.

He, however, resolved to fight against all odds to win the contest and eventually retain the Gomoa East seat for the NDC in the 2024 general elections.

“Considering the love I command here, a win for me will be a big advantage for the umbrella fraternity and its potential flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

“I have the passion, energy and vision for the development of the constituency and that is exactly what our constituents require and deserve,” he said.

Mr Mensah urged the delegates to look favourably on him, come Saturday, May 13, 2023, when voting will be held.

“Gomoa East is a key constituency in the region, and having a strong and capable representative in parliament will be crucial for advancing the party’s agenda and ensuring that the needs and concerns of the constituents are heard and addressed,” he stressed.
