The vice presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, says the next NDC government will make the agriculture sector attractive.
Addressing supporters at Walewale on Wednesday as part of her campaign tour of the North East Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said the next NDC government will implement innovative policies and make significant investment in the agriculture sector to ensure food security and provide jobs.
She said one of the key policies to be implemented would be the establishment of Farmers Service Centres to support farmers with modern agricultural equipment in all districts.
The Centres, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said, will boost food production as farmers across the country will be able to access machinery to plough their land.
She wondered why the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government has refused to construct the Pwalugu Dam, many years after cutting the sod and spending millions of dollars in the name of the dam.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said the government has destroyed every sector of the economy, including the country’s education sector.
She questioned why the government chooses to buy past questions for students instead of providing them with text books.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said the government has failed Ghanaians and it is imperative that it is booted out of office on December 7 when the presidential and parliamentary elections take place.
