Former Premier League manager Chris Hughton has signed a contract to coach Ghana until December 31, 2024.
The details of his contract were revealed during his unveiling at SG Mall in Kumasi on Monday. The contract is subject to renewal based on Hughton’s performance.
Hughton’s assistant coaches, George Boateng and Didi Dramani have also signed similar contracts with the Ghana Football Association.
Hughton was appointed in February, but the details of his contract were kept under wraps until the official unveiling.
Hughton has previously managed Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion. He was born in the United Kingdom to a Ghanaian father and an Irish mother and represented Northern Ireland as a footballer.
He is excited about the opportunity to coach the country of his father and is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
