In a vibrant and culturally rich ceremony, the Zongo community of Ngleshie Domeabra installed Sarki Iddrisa Alhasan as their new chief, marking a significant moment for the community within the Ga South Municipality.
In his address to the media, Sarki Iddrisa expressed deep gratitude to Allah, crediting divine guidance for the successful occasion.
His speech emphasized a call for unity and peace, particularly as Ghana approaches a critical general election. Speaking to the youth and the wider community, he urged a spirit of harmony between members of Ghana’s two main political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“We are one people, whether we support NPP or NDC. Members of one party have brothers and sisters in the other, and elections are not battles,” he remarked, highlighting the need for decorum.
“Let us vote in peace, return home after casting our ballots, and await the results with patience. Whoever wins does so by the will of God, and we must respect that.”
Sarki Iddrisa directed a heartfelt plea to the youth, reminding them that the future lies in their hands.
He encouraged them to resist any attempts to incite violence, noting that the days of being used as tools for electoral unrest belong in the past.
Instead, he called upon the youth to safeguard the peace and stability that Ghana currently enjoys.
The coronation event attracted a notable assembly of dignitaries, including Asafoatse Nii Kojo Kwao III, Kasoa Odikro Nai Seidu, Sulemana Abubakar (the Galadima of Domeabra), and Sarki Razak of Gongon.
Their presence underscored the importance of the occasion, as the community celebrated its rich cultural heritage and looked forward to a future of unity and peace under the leadership of Sarki Iddrisa Alhasan.
