NGO On Mission To Bring Historic Transformation To Abola Community

In the heart of Accra, a vibrant city pulsing with life and energy, the Ga-Centre for Culture and Development, a non-governmental organization, embarked on a mission to bring transformation to the historic Abola community and the Greater Accra region.

The Gyassetse of Abola Nii OKAI Awa said the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Ga people, the Centre set out to empower local artisans, preserve traditional practices, and foster community development.

He said , Through skill-building workshops, cultural exchange programs, and collaborative projects, the Centre ignited a sense of pride and ownership among community members.

Nii OKAI Awa said once-forgotten artisans found new purpose, and their crafts gained recognition both locally and internationally.

As the Centre’s impact grew, so did its reach. Partnerships with local schools, healthcare initiatives, and environmental programs expanded, addressing pressing needs and improving lives.

The Ga-Centre for Culture and Development became a beacon of hope, demonstrating that grassroots initiatives could drive meaningful change.

He said Abola’s revitalization inspired a ripple effect, spreading development and progress throughout Greater Accra.

Years later, the Centre’s legacy continued to thrive, a testament to the power of community-driven development and the enduring spirit of the Ga people.”

In a historic and joyous celebration of Hommowo the Abola stool installed two development chiefs from the Ga-Centre for Culture and Development during the vibrant Hommowo festival.

This momentous occasion followed the recent coronation of two members of the NGO as queens and a chief, marking a remarkable triple honor for the organization.

The two newly installed Naa Yonmo Odenjor and Nii Sankofa who is also the chief of defense in the NGO , , joined their colleagues,in receiving traditional titles and responsibilities.

This quartet of leaders from the Ga-Centre for Culture and Development is now poised to drive transformative change in Abola and the Greater Accra region.

The installation ceremony was a testament to the Abola stool’s recognition of the NGO’s tireless efforts in promoting cultural preservation, community development, and social cohesion.

As the crowd celebrated, it was clear that this partnership would usher in a new era of progress and growth for the community.
