The Chartered Institute of Sales and Customer Service Management (CISCSM) inducted 282 professionals at its conference in Lagos on 10 October 2026, closing a week tied to Customer Service Week.

The new members fall into five grades:

  • 88 Associate Members
  • 97 Full Members
  • 71 Fellows
  • 17 Doctoral Fellows
  • nine Honorary Fellows

The institute also presented awards for professional achievement, including one for the highest score in its sales and customer service examinations.

The ceremony took place at NECA House in Ikeja, headquarters of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association. It ended five days of virtual sessions from 5 to 9 October, which coincided with Customer Service Week, held around the world in the first full week of October. This year’s theme was “The Extra Mile: Beyond Service, Beyond Expectations.”

The institute’s President, Dr Sunday O. Fayose, told members that technology is changing how companies sell and serve customers. He argued that trust, empathy and real human contact still decide whether customers have a good experience. He told the new members that professional recognition brings duties of integrity and high standards. “The extra mile is not what we do, but what we become,” he said.

The programme included keynote speeches, panel discussions, question-and-answer sessions, networking and team-building exercises. Those recognised during the event included Olamide Olusegun Ojomo, Dr Anaele Kingsley, Olayinka Ajayi, Dr Clement Ayo Oladejo, Belinda Ogunrinu, Dr Victor Olarinde Orowale, Dr Bhadmus Abudu Sarafa, Dr Kayode A. Kolawole and Ugochi Ossai. The institute’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ifedayo Owoseni, also attended.

The institute says it has more than 4,000 professionals in its community. They work in sales management, customer service, customer relationship management and customer experience. Candidates join either by completing its training programmes or through an assessment of their work experience.

Its next induction is scheduled for 5 December 2026, after the current cohort finishes its eight-week sales and customer relationship management course.
