The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has issued a public notice cautioning individuals and groups against organizing cultural displays at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) without prior approval.
In a post shared on its official social media platforms on Monday, February 9, GACL emphasized that any cultural activity intended to welcome arriving passengers at the airport must receive authorization before it is carried out.
“Individuals or groups intending to organize a cultural display at the airport to welcome a loved one are required to obtain prior approval,” the statement said. “Without prior approval and authorisation, you will not be allowed unto the premises.”
GACL has therefore urged the public to engage the appropriate department for guidance before planning such activities. Interested persons are advised to contact the Commercial Services Department of GACL on 0302 550612, Extension 6147 for further information.
Kotoka International Airport, Ghana’s main international gateway, handles high volumes of passengers, dignitaries, and airline operations daily, making strict adherence to operational and security protocols critical.
The notice comes amid growing interest in elaborate airport receptions, often involving drumming, dancing, and traditional performances to welcome returning residents and notable personalities.
