Danish-Ghanaian midfielder Noah Nartey scored as Olympique Lyon defeated RSC Anderlecht 2-1 in the Europa League at Lotto Park.Lyon made an excellent start in Brussels, securing three points after a composed performance and a late fightback from the hosts.Nartey opened the scoring in the eighth minute, giving Lyon an early advantage. His finish rewarded the visitors positive approach and immediately placed Anderlecht under pressure.Lyon doubled their lead in the 22nd minute when Keito Nakamura found the net. With a two-goal cushion, the French side appeared comfortable and controlled the remainder of the first half.Anderlecht responded after the interval and reduced the deficit through Mihajlo Cvetkovic in the 61st minute. The Belgian team continued searching for an equaliser, but Lyon defended effectively during the closing stages to protect their advantage.Nartey started the match and produced a strong individual display before being replaced by Mads Bidstrup in the 74th minute. His goal provided the foundation for Lyons successful European campaign opener.Lyon will now turn their attention to domestic football, with Rennes visiting in Ligue 1 on September 19.
