Social media users have attacked Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo, following a claim he made during his pre-Founders Day address to Ghanaians.
Nana Akufo-Addo, coming from the UP tradition, was dismissive of the role that Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah of the CPP, played in the founding of Ghana.
While it is generally accepted that Nkrumah played the most instrumental role in winning Ghana independence, Nana Akufo-Addo said in his address that he rejects that premise.
According to him, multiple people played multiple roles at different times to win Ghana independence.

The President’s comments were not well received by social media users.
“No body has ever had a problem with nkrumah even foreigners but you are the only one. No matter what you do , you and you dad can never be relevant like him,” one netizen wrote.
Another said: “It’s even funny, now he’s beefing with a dead man, mm)b) , how is this going to benefit Ghanaians,”
