Dennis Miracles, Director of Local Government Services at the Office of the President, says emphatically that none of the candidates vying for the flagbearer position of the New Patriotic Party has the level of political experience Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has.

According to him, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party because he has over 16 years of experience from being a member of the party’s National Council to Running Mate and currently the Vice President of Ghana.

He stated during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Thursday morning, that the Vice President’s political exposure is unmatched, hence none of his competitors in the presidential race can outperform him.

He appealed to the delegates to elect Bawumia as flagbearer, believing the latter comes to the table with rich experience and qualities deserving of being President of Ghana.

“None of them has the level of experience and exposure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has. Experience is not about the number of years but the role you have played that gives you experience…For 20 years, he has led our party. He has been part of the National Council since 2008. He has been a Running Mate for four elections and Vice President for two terms which is eight years. There is none in our party today running this contest who can say he has the level of political experience and exposure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has,” he shared with host Nana Yaw Kesseh.

The New Patriotic Party will hold its presidential election this Saturday, November 4, to elect a flagbearer among four candidates namely Kennedy Agyapong, Assin Central lawmaker, Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto, former Agric Minister, Thomas Addai Nimoh and the Vice President.

Over 200,000 delegates are expected to participate in the election with Ghanaians anticipating a showdown among the candidates, particularly between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong.
