Dennis Miracles Aboagye, former communications manager for ex-Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 campaign, has defiantly declared that opposition criticism will continue despite recent arrests of New Patriotic Party (NPP) activists.

Speaking on Accra’s OKAY FM, Aboagye slammed the Mahama administration’s use of security agencies, calling it intimidation.

“You cannot prevent us from talking. Arrest me—I’ll be back in days to speak louder,” he vowed, referencing the detention of NPP members by Ghana Police and National Security on August 13. Though granted bail, they remain in custody at publication time.

Aboagye accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of vindicating former President Akufo-Addo’s policies within “just seven months in power.”

He challenged the government to “do what’s right for Ghana” or face relentless scrutiny. The remarks signal escalating tensions as the NPP rebuilds after its 2024 election loss.

No government response has been issued. With the 2028 campaign season looming, Aboagye’s rhetoric underscores the opposition’s resolve to test the NDC’s tolerance for dissent.
