Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) will host 5,675 delegates at its National Annual Delegates Conference on July 18–19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Planning Committee Chairman Joseph Osei-Owusu (“Joe Wise”) confirmed logistics and security are finalized for the exclusive stadium event, addressing COVID-19 concerns with a dedicated Health Committee despite recent reports of cases on campus.
The conference will focus solely on reviewing proposed amendments to the NPP constitution. A 300-page document from the Constitutional Review Committee—distilled into specific motions—has been circulated to regional branches. Osei-Owusu urged delegates to study proposals beforehand, stressing voting will be limited to these motions.
Strict security protocols bar non-delegates from the decision-making arena, with exceptions only by National Executive Committee approval. Osei-Owusu warned against campaign activities: “No aspirant banners, T-shirts, or billboards will be admitted.” A media village will provide pooled feeds to ensure reporting consistency, with deviations “addressed appropriately.”
The NPP aims to uphold the event as a “serious constitutional exercise,” not a campaign platform, reinforcing internal democracy ahead of Ghana’s 2028 elections.
