Bibiani GoldStars have officially appointed Greek tactician Petros Koukouras as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
The UEFA A Licence holder replaces Swiss coach Fritz Markus Schmid, who departed the Miners after taking charge during the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.
Koukouras arrives with considerable coaching experience, having most recently managed Ugandan giants SC Villa. He also previously worked as a FUFA Development Professional in Uganda, where he played a key role in football development.
The Greek trainer has also had a stint with Rwandan top-flight side Kiyovu Sports and is recognised as a Sports Science specialist, bringing both technical expertise and modern coaching methods to the Bibiani-based club.
His appointment comes as GoldStars prepare for a new campaign following a historic 2025/26 season, during which they secured their maiden Ghana Premier League title.
The club will be hoping Koukouras can build on that success and lead the Miners in both the domestic league and the CAF Champions League in the upcoming season.
