Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has officially named Ghana’s final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, trimming his provisional squad ahead of the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Goalkeepers Paul Reverson and Solomon Agbasi are the two players to miss out on the final squad, with no outfield player being dropped by the Portuguese tactician.

The announcement confirms the inclusion of experienced stars such as Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo and Kamaldeen Sulemana, while emerging talents including Caleb Yirenkyi, Kwasi Sibo, Prince Kwabena Adu and Jonas Adjetey have also secured places on the plane to North America.

In goal, Queiroz has retained Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang as his three goalkeeping options for the tournament.

The defensive department will be led by Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, Abdul Mumin and Jerome Opoku, while Derrick Luckassen has earned a place in the squad following injury concerns surrounding Alexander Djiku.

The midfield unit features the experience of Thomas Partey and Elisha Owusu alongside the youthful energy of Caleb Yirenkyi, Kwasi Sibo, Augustine Boakye and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Up front, Ghana will rely on the attacking firepower of Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Brandon Thomas-Asante as they seek to make an impact on the global stage.

The Black Stars will continue their preparations with a friendly match against Wales in Cardiff on June 2 before concluding their pre-World Cup schedule against Jamaica on June 10.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L of the World Cup and will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17. The Black Stars will then face England on June 23 before wrapping up their group-stage fixtures against Croatia on June 27.

With the final squad now confirmed, attention shifts to the two remaining warm-up matches as Queiroz looks to put up a redoubtable side ahead of Ghana’s fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup.
