Former Legon Cities and Nations FC forward Nafiu Sulemana has completed a move to Iraqi Premier Division side Naft Al-Basrah FC.

The 26-year-old joins the club after his spell with fellow Iraqi outfit Al Etisalat, remaining in the country’s second-tier league as he begins a new chapter in his career.

Naft Al-Basrah confirmed the signing in a statement on the club’s official channels, welcoming the Ghanaian attacker to the team.

“Shine brightly with the communications. Navieu Suleimani picks for Basra Oil. Welcome to the Knights Battalion!” the club announced.

Sulemana is no stranger to Ghanaian football, having previously featured for Inter Allies, Tamale City, Legon Cities and Nations FC before moving abroad.

The move offers the versatile forward another opportunity to continue his career in Iraq as Naft Al-Basrah strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, with the Ghanaian expected to play a key role in the club’s ambitions.
