A student of Okemos High School in Okemos, Michigan, has tragically died by suicide, the school announced.
The tragic incident occurred Thursday, November 7th, 2024, according to a statement from the school.
The student involved was a junior. It’s currently not clear what led him to commit the action he took.
Okemos High School informed the school community of this tragedy via a statement.
“It is with sadness that I inform you an Okemos High School junior died by suicide yesterday evening,” the statement began. “We are providing you with this information so you can determine how to best have a conversation with your student and family regarding loss and the impact of suicide,”
The statement added that staff members are being provided with the right resources to be able to speak to students or staff who need to peak to someone.
