Call us

First, it was the first day of August

The first time ever

The first trip down memory lane

It was a first trip up in the skies

A first in that teen life

Once he was lifted up into the skies

He lowered his eyes to see beneath the skies

Soon he was lowered down from the skies

A short trip up in the skies

II

Then, it was the first day of August

The second trip down memory lane

It was a slip into the arms of love

After many years of slips had taken many loves away

After many hearts have slipped through the days

It was the first in that young manhood

Soon he slipped out of love’s way

Welcoming a shocking slip out of harm’s way

Shaking his misery off where he stood in solitude

III

Then, it was the first day of August

The third snooze down memory lane

It was when the two fleshed as two incompatible ones

When the two enmeshed into one complete nightmare

When the two fleshed a fresh one into life to scare

Soon the two dreamed right into the middle of the night

One night

All night long

A deep snooze dripped through their deep snores

All night long

IV

Then, it was in the middle of August

On the fifteenth day in the month of cold rain

It was a wrong trip down memory lane

Unfortunately unexpected,

Painfully unsuspected

Badly unprepared

Poorly unsuccessful

The first trip towards an unpleasant cohabitation

Once it took off

At once it proved rough

Twice it was tough

As the tough times got rougher

The rough stuff never called off the tough bluff

A long trip in the habitat, right on the turf

V

Then, it was at the end of August

The penultimate day in August

A long, winding trip down memory lane

A reverse of August when it occurred

A reverse of the places he had been

A reverse of the things he had seen

A reverse of the wrongs that had been done

VI

Now, it’s the beginning of August

A new beginning

This August!

What does this August bring to us?

An august visitor?
