The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, the prime suspect in the killing of entrepreneur Irene Atubiga, Chief Executive Officer of Kussa Shea Bliss, and her uncle, George Atubiga.

The suspect, who had been on the run following the fatal shooting at Sakumono in Accra, was arrested at his hideout on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

His arrest comes days after the police launched a manhunt for him following the deaths of Irene and her uncle in an alleged dispute over a debt.

In an earlier statement, the Ghana Police Service announced the arrest of a female suspect, Beatrice Mumuni, 47, who allegedly accompanied Christopher to the victims’ residence.

The police had also announced a GH¢100,000 reward for credible information that could lead to the arrest of the principal suspect.

In its latest update, the Ghana Police Service confirmed that Samuel Christopher Osei Anto had finally been apprehended.

The suspect was reportedly picked up at a hideout after efforts by security personnel to locate him.

However, the police have not yet disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

The Service indicated that additional information would be communicated to the public in due time.

According to the police account of the incident, Christopher allegedly visited the residence of George Atubiga at NTHC Estate, Sakumono, accompanied by Beatrice Mumuni.

The two reportedly went there to demand repayment of a loan owed by George.

A misunderstanding allegedly developed during the encounter, resulting in Christopher reportedly shooting George and his niece, Irene, before fleeing the scene.

The two victims subsequently died, prompting a police investigation and a search for the suspects.

The arrest of Samuel Christopher Osei Anto marks a significant development in the investigation into the deaths of the two family members.
