Police in Kumasi have arrested a 48-year-old businessman, Francis Arthur, in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Sally Benson, following a reported domestic dispute.

According to reports, the incident occurred on April 14, 2026, at the suspect’s residence at Ayigya-Maxima.

Sally Benson, a well-known beautician and owner of Sally’s Cosmetics Studio and African’s Special Pub in Asokwa, had reportedly gone to Arthur’s house with a female friend after hearing that another woman had visited him.

Sources indicate that tensions escalated when Arthur returned home, leading to a heated argument between the couple.

During the confrontation, Arthur is alleged to have physically assaulted Benson until she collapsed. In what appears to have been an attempt to save her, he reportedly transported her in her own vehicle to the KNUST Hospital.

However, medical personnel at the facility pronounced her dead on arrival.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and arraigned before the Asokore Mampong District Court, where he was remanded into police custody. He is expected to reappear in court on May 8, 2026, as investigations continue.

The deceased’s father, Apostle Gabriel Oppong, has called for justice, urging authorities to ensure that due process is followed.
