Legon Cities secured a dramatic 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko to record their first win of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign in a riveting contest at the University of Ghana Stadium on Wednesday night.
Rahim Yaya Abdul drilled home the match-winner in added time to secure the Royals’ first win to ease pressure in the capital.
Albert Yeboah opened the scoring with a brilliant finish in the 23rd minute before Albert Amoah pulled parity for the Porcupine Warriors in the 74th minute of the outstanding game.
The contest looked destined for a draw until Rahim Yaya Abdul popped up with the crucial goal in added time.
This is Asante Kotoko’s first defeat of the season but remain second in the table with 15 points while Cities are still in the bottom three with 5 points.
