Prempeh Elite Academy and Greater Accra meet on Wednesday, October 7, in a decisive Group A contest at the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship.
The match pits the competitions leading side against the team immediately below them in the standings, with both aiming to strengthen their position as the group stage reaches a critical point.
Prempeh Elite Academy have made a perfect start to the tournament, winning all three of their opening matches to move to the top of Group A. Greater Accra are only one point behind, meaning victory at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram could have a significant impact on the race for the leading positions.
The game will begin at 8am on the FIFA pitch, where the two sides will meet in one of the most anticipated fixtures of Matchday Four.
At the same time, Central Region will play Upper West Region on the betPawa pitch. That match also carries importance as the group standings begin to take shape.
The programme continues at 10am, with Western Region, the leaders of Group B, facing Elite Academy, BIG Boss on the FIFA pitch. On the betPawa pitch, Volta Region will play Northern Region.
Two further fixtures are scheduled for the afternoon. Upper West Region will take on Eastern Region at 2:00pm, before Ashanti Region complete the days action against Brong Ahafo.
Wednesdays results could prove influential in determining which teams remain best placed for the leading positions and qualification as the competition moves further into its group-stage programme.
The championship is sponsored by the KGL Foundation and is part of the Ghana Football Associations Talent Development Scheme (TDS). The scheme is designed to identify, develop and nurture the next generation of football talent in Ghana.
The Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship gives promising under-17 players the opportunity to compete in a demanding tournament environment while representing their respective regions and academies.
It also provides a platform for the players to display their technical quality, tactical awareness and potential, while gaining valuable experience against some of the countrys best young footballers.
With Prempeh Elite Academy yet to drop a point and Greater Accra within one point of the summit, their Group A meeting is set to provide the clearest test so far of the leaders progress in the 2026 competition.
