The Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has announced that President John Dramani Mahama will account to the nation on his 120-day Social Contract today, Wednesday, May 7.
The President’s address will be live on radio and television at 8:30pm, Mr Kwakye Ofosu said in a post on his Facebook page.
“President John Dramani Mahama will account to the nation on his 120 day Social Contract tonight at 8:30pm in a live TV and radio broadcast,” Kwakye Ofosu wrote.
Since assuming office on Janury 7, 2025, President Mahama ahs fulfilled a number of the promises he made to Ghanains.
For instance, he has abolished the E-Levy, Betting Tax, and Emissions Levy.
The others notable include launch of the One Million Coders Programme to build digital skills among youth, rollout of the Mahama Cares social protection framework, introduction of the Adwumawura Programme to promote job creation, free tertiary education for persons with disabilities, free sanitary pad initiative for schoolgirls, Black Star Experience, a flagship tourism and cultural revival program, Seed money for the Women’s Development Bank, Establishment of the Accelerated Export Development Council, Probing the Akosombo dam spillage, which affected thousands, Restructuring of loss-making State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to ensure efficiency
