An Economist, Peter Tekper says with the current economic situation in the country, he agrees with President Akufo-Addo to depart from the usual templates with regard to the presentation of the SONA and focus on the economy.
He said the President’s reasons for the country’s current economic situation should have stated specifically the total amount being borrowed and how it has been disbursed for clarity.
With regards to the COVID-19 budget, Mr. Terkper said that though the President has spoken, the issue of the COVID-19 expenditure will not be put to rest until the details demanded are provided.
