Ghana forward Princess Marfo was named Woman of the Match after playing a key role in the Black Queens’ 2-1 comeback victory over Ivory Coast on Thursday.The win secured Ghana a place in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup intercontinental play-off and kept their hopes of reaching the tournament in Brazil alive.On the matchday, Ghana fell behind after only four minutes at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium when Ines Konan converted a penalty for Ivory Coast.The Black Queens responded after the break and drew level through Princess Marfo in the 59th minute.Her equaliser gave Ghana renewed momentum before Josephine Bonsu completed the turnaround from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute.Ghana successfully defended their advantage during the closing stages to claim a crucial victory.Marfo’s equalising goal and overall contribution earned her the Woman of the Match award as the Black Queens recovered from their early setback.
