Downtown Providence has been transformed into a hub of Ghanaian culture following the launch of Tribe Culturefest’s #FWC26Tribe activations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A colourful “I Love Ghana” installation, designed in the red, gold and green colours of the Ghanaian flag, has become a major attraction in the city centre, drawing residents, visitors and members of the Ghanaian community.
The celebrations also feature life-sized tributes to iconic Black Stars players, honouring football figures who have contributed significantly to Ghana’s global sporting reputation.
The activations form part of preparations for Ghana Day 2026, scheduled for June 20 in partnership with the City of Providence. The event will showcase Ghanaian culture through exhibitions, tourism displays, cuisine, music, dance and live entertainment.
According to Tribe Culturefest Chief Operating Officer Kristin Gyimah, the initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties between Ghana and the United States.
Providence is the first stop of a nationwide campaign that will also visit Boston and Philadelphia.
