Defender Alexander Djiku has called on Ghanaians to come out in numbers to support the Black Stars ahead of their AFCON 2027 qualifier against The Gambia.The Black Stars returned to Ghana after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Ivory Coast in their Group C opener, and desperately need to get their campaign back on track with a positive result against the Scorpions on Tuesday in Accra.Following the first round of games, Ghana sit bottom of the group after Gambia defeated Somalia 2-1 on Friday, September 25, 2026.”We keep our heads up, we stay united and we move forward. Always,” wrote Djiku on social media. “Now, our responsibility is to be ready for Tuesday and give everything for this shirt and our country.”Well need every voice, every flag and every supporter behind us. For Ghana.”The Black Stars are hoping to make a return to the Africa Cup of Nations after shockingly missing the last edition in Morocco last year.Djiku captained the team in Bouake on Thursday, but was replaced late in the match after appearing to pick a knock late in the game.He, however, is expected to be fit in time for the Gambia game on Tuesday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
